Miami-born and now Sydney-based artist, Tony Ciccone returns to the stage with his brand of standards and original music. With a performance style that has been compared to the incomparable Bobby Darin and Frank Sinatra, the singer-songwriter is currently booking shows while recording his album of original music set for release in early 2016.
Growing up in Surfside, a residential neighbourhood near Miami Beach, Fla., Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin played on the family record player and could be heard throughout the home on holidays. The youngest of four, Tony began writing songs at the age of eight. Then, the topics revolved around family trips to the beach or lyrics about animated characters.
More mature topics found their way into his music as he got older, with love, conflict and dreams finding their way into his lyrics. Performances came in the form of weddings and a three and five piece indie pop band that performed in clubs around Miami Beach.
Finding his own vision for his music, Tony wrote and produced his EP, “Tony Ciccone” while living in Minnesota, before fulfilling the dream of becoming an NCAA basketball coach. The writing never stopped, as catalogs of songs continued to flow and found their way onto paper and recordings in a variety of genres. Tony teamed with pop, rock, jazz and country artists to write and produce songs with an infectious lyric and melodic appeal.
His writing and performances, along with collaborations with other artists continues.
